Meet Guinevere!
Guinervere…..our largest and oldest Juniper tree. The name Juniper comes from the Latin ‘juniperus’ which means ever young, evergreen or youth producing. As an Old English name it was inspired by the tree which is a symbol of strength and protection. Guinevere is an ancient Welsh variation of this name. Local experts have aged her between 1200 and 1500 years old! Imagine that!
We invite you to sit for a while next to Guinevere and enjoy the peace and shade she still offers after all these hundreds of years. Imagine how she has stood witness to history since as early as 500AD. Perhaps she may even offer you a sense of comfort and steadiness in these rocky times.
Below are photographs from around our garden – of native plants and trees some of which we planted since 2016. The animals you see are frequent visitors – except the bobcat who keeps a low profile, but is definately about!
